The New England Patriots started out with a major problem. They could not find a home field to play on, they were playing their home games all over the city of Boston. They were using college fields and even baseball fields. However, in 1971 the New England Patriots moved their home games to Foxboro Stadium. The problem with stadium is that it was very purely kept. The stadium bleachers would freeze over when it got cold and the whole stadium would just become worn down from the cold winters of Boston. This would remain to be their home field until 2001 when the Patriots built Gillette Stadium.
When the new stadium was being designed, they had to put a larger amount of seating and more durable surfaces that would not get worn down in the cold winters of Boston. They decided that because the grass would be way to hard to keep alive to go with field turf. The first game played on the new field was against the nine and one Chicago Bears. The Patriots pulled a huge upset and some people said that this was the start of the Patriots, they were right. It is the home of the best team in football, the New England Patriots; the field is Gillette Stadium the home of the best.

A Decade of Winning
Over the last decade it would seem that the best team in the NFL has been the New England Patriots. This is completely true! If you look over the last decade the Patriots have eight playoff appearances and division championships. They have four Super Bowl appearances which they have won three of those appearances. They have won three conference championships also. This clearly shows that in the last decade the New England Patriots have been the best team in the last decade.
Many people would agree that the reason for the New England Patriots success is because of their decision making in 2000. The Patriots could not have gotten much better things in that off season. They redesigned their football stadium, hired one of the best coaches to ever coach a football game, and one of the best quarterbacks ever. The New England Patriots seemed to be unstoppable but, recently they have lost a lot of key players on their defense. These players include Teddi Bruschi and Mike Vrabel. Now New England tries to rebuild their defense to keep up the long streak of winning. Their offense seems to be playing well but , Let's hope they can get back to before!

The Video Scandal
In the 2007 season, a scandal had occurred with the NFL mostly centered around the New England Patriots. When the Patriots played the New York Jets, several Jet's coaches were suspicious of the Patriots videotaping the defensive signals. This of course was against the rules and later the New York Jets had reported a complaint to the NFL about the Patriots. The NFL started doing research into the matter and found out that there is a large amount of evidence that the New England Patriots had indeed videotaped New York's defensive signals. Also other accusations were made against the Patriots.
Also a old coach who was in charge of film for the Patriots in 2001 and 2002 accused the Patriots of videotaping the St. Louis Ram's practice before the Super Bowl. Although later he withdrew his accusations, the Patriots still had to face the consequences. Bill Belicheck was fined for 250,000 dollars and the Patriots were fined 500,000 dollars. Although the claims against the Patriots were partially controversial the scandal still remains to stain the organization's reputation. Roger Goodell, the NFL manager said," that even though this scandal took place; it doesn't show any reflection of how good the players, coaches, and trainers worked to make the New England Patriots a top contender."

Tom Brady......Enough Said
Who is the New England Patriots? A good answer would probably be Tom Brady. Why would someone say that; just look at his stats. He is leading the all-time quarterback list in several categories. There is no question that Tom Brady is gonna make the Hall of Fame. He entered the NFL Draft in 2000 and was the 199th pick by the New England Patriots. He started out as a back up to Drew Bledsoe but, in 2001Brady had switched back and forth with Drew Bledsoe. He got to play a lot of good games and was starting to gain respect from some of his strict critics.
In 2002 Brady did not put up his best season. He tied with the New York Jets and had a low passing rate. However, some players said that Brady was suffering an injury to his right shoulder even though it wads never actually reported. In 2003 and 2004 Brady was outstanding as he led the Patriots to a Super Bowl win in 2004 and made it to the Pro Bowl which only takes the best football players in 2004 and 2005. He won several awrards throughout his career so far like Super Bowl MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, and NFL MVP. He led the Patriots to three Super Bowls and seemed unstoppable. He continues to shock football fans every year as he continues to impress.

Perhaps the Best Coach to ever Coach a Football Team!!!!!!
A person could say the name once in Boston and every one would know what he was talking about. The name is Bill Belichick. He has been the New England Patriots head coach since 2000. He had spent fifteen years in the NFL as an assistant coach. He transferred as a head coach for several different teams which include the Baltimore Colts, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Cleavland Browns, New York Jets, and his current team, the New England Patriots. In 2000, the Patriots went five and eleven which is Bill's only losing season with the Patriots till now.
2001 was the year that Bill had led the Patriots to one of their many Super Bowls. Many people saw Bill as a fresh new coach who could one day become a hall of fame coach and, that is exactly what Bill has done and will likely continue to do so. Msany people say that Bill Belichick is only good because he has Tom Brady. However, the stats do say that there has never been a coach and a player with as many wins as Bill and Tom have done for New England. However, there is no doubt that because Bill has led the Patriots to three Super Bowl wins that he is one of the best coaches to ever coach.

The History of your Favorite Team
The Patriots started out from a local Boston business executive named Billy Sullivan. On November 16, 1959 he got permission to create the eighth team to join the American Football League. He let Boston citizens submit ideas for what the team should be named. The most popular choice was the Boston Patriots. Later that day, the Boston Globe came out with the logo. This would be their logo for the next thirty years. The first few years of the Patriots, they had trouble finding a home stadium. They played all over Boston: Fenway Park, Alumni Stadium, and Harvard Park.
It would not be until 1971 for the Boston Patriots to finally get a filed in Foxborough, Massachusetts. It is a small town just a few miles outside of Boston. This location continues to be the current location as for the New England Patriot's home stadium. After the change the Patriots wanted to be called from the Boston Patriots to the Bay State Patriots. However, once the name was rejected by the NFL; the Patriots became the New England Patriots. In 1970, the AFL and the NFL merged which caused the Patriots to be placed in a conference called the AFC East. Back then, the Patriots biggest rival was the Chicago Bears who were a great time very year at the beginning of the 1970's. The New England Patriots weren't really considered a good team back then though.
